ScanCart Go – Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ScanCart Go ("we", "us", "our") is a Shopify app designed for US-based physical retailers. The app lets customers scan display items with their phones, build a digital cart, and enables staff to convert those carts into Shopify Draft Orders.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data needed to provide the app:

• Shopify authentication: shop domain, access token, scope, expiration, user metadata (email, name, locale, collaborator/owner flags).
• Product data: variant IDs, product IDs, barcodes, shop name, timestamps.
• Cart and item data: cart ID and line items (title, variant, quantity, image).
• Draft order metadata: Draft Order ID, order name, optional notes, created date, shop name, plan type.
• Usage cycle: subscription ID, plan, billing interval, cycle dates, usage limits.
• Logs & support: technical logs (IP, browser, errors, timestamps) and support communications.

We do not collect payment card details, customer shipping addresses, or customer emails.

3. How We Use Data

• Provide and operate the app.
• Enforce billing and plan usage in USD.
• Prevent fraud and abuse.
• Respond to support requests.
• Comply with law and enforce terms.

4. Sharing

We share data only with:

• Shopify APIs (to operate the app).
• Hosting/database providers (cloud infrastructure, managed Postgres).
• Error monitoring services.
• Professional advisors if required.
• Successors in case of merger/acquisition.

We do not sell or share data for advertising.

5. Cookies

We may use essential cookies or local storage in the embedded app for secure session handling. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• While installed: Data is retained to operate the app.
• After uninstall: Within 48 hours of receiving Shopify's shop/redact webhook, we permanently delete or anonymize store data.
• Logs: Retained up to 90 days for debugging/security.

Merchants can email privacy@scancart-go.com for confirmation of deletion.

7. Your Rights (US)

If you are a US merchant, including in California, you may request:

• Access to data we hold about your store.
• Correction or deletion of data.

We do not discriminate against merchants for exercising these rights.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption, access controls, secure hosting). No system is 100% secure—please keep your Shopify credentials safe.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy. Updates will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
